Turnover surges
Nifty April 2015 futures were at 8467.35, a premium of 125.20 points over spot closing of 8342.15. Turnover on NSE's futures & options (F&O) segment jumped to Rs 5.78 lakh crore from Rs 3.57 lakh crore registered during previous trading session yesterday, 25 March 2015.
HDFC Bank April 2015 futures were at 1035.05, at a premium over spot closing of 1017.90.
ICICI Bank April 2015 futures were at 314, at a premium over spot closing of 312.45.
State Bank of India April 2015 futures were at 261, at a premium over spot closing of 258.15.
In the spot market, the 50-unit CNX Nifty fell 188.65 points or 2.21% to settle at 8,342.15, its lowest closing level since 14 January 2015.
The April 2015 derivatives contracts expire on 30 April 2015. The March 2015 derivatives contracts expired today, 26 March 2015.
