Turnover on NSE's F&O segment drops
The January 2016 futures on the 50-unit Nifty 50 index traded at 7438.95, near Nifty's closing of 7435.10 in the cash market. The Nifty February 2016 futures traded at 7459.25, a premium of 24.15 points compared with the spot closing for the index. Turnover on the National Stock Exchange's futures and options (F&O) segment dropped to Rs 2.74 lakh crore from turnover of Rs 3.14 lakh crore registered during the previous trading session.
In the cash market, the Nifty gained 84.10 points or 1.14% to settle at 7,435.10, its highest closing level since 15 January 2016.
Reliance Industries (RIL), Reliance Infrastructure (RInfra), Axis Bank, State Bank of India (SBI), Jet Airways (India) and L&T were the top traded individual stock futures contracts on the futures & options (F&O) segment of NSE.
RIL January 2016 futures traded at 1048, near spot closing of 1046.95. RInfra January 2016 futures traded at 477, near spot closing of 476.25. Axis Bank January 2016 futures traded at 395.95, at discount compared with spot closing of 396.
SBI January 2016 futures traded at 184.20, near spot closing of 183.50. Jet Airways (India) January 2016 futures traded at 678.10, near spot closing of 676.95. L&T January 2016 futures traded at 1124, near spot closing of 1121.
The January 2016 F&O contracts are set to expire on 28 January 2016. The February 2016 F&O contracts are set to expire on 25 February 2016.
