Turnover on NSE's F&O segment drops
The May 2016 futures on the Nifty 50 index traded at 7,921.90, a premium of 34.10 points compared with Nifty's closing of 7,887.80 in the cash market. Turnover on the National Stock Exchange's (NSE) futures and options (F&O) totaled Rs 1.87 lakh crore, lower than turnover of Rs 2.25 crore registered during the previous trading session.
In the cash market, the Nifty gained 21.75 points or 0.28% to settle at 7,887.80, its highest closing level since 27 April 2016.
Tata Steel, Axis Bank, Tata Motors, Reliance Infrastructure and Yes Bank were the top traded individual stock futures contracts on the futures & options (F&O) segment of NSE. Tata Steel May 2016 futures traded at 329.10, at a premium compared with spot closing of 328. Axis Bank May 2016 futures traded at 488.25, at a premium compared with spot closing of 487.10. Tata Motors May 2016 futures traded at 392, at a premium compared with spot closing of 390.20.
Reliance Infrastructure May 2016 futures traded at 552.15, at a premium compared with spot closing of 550.60. Yes Bank May 2016 futures traded at 955.55, at a premium compared with spot closing of 952.
The May 2016 F&O contracts are set to expire on 26 May 2016.
