Turnover on NSE's F&O segment declines
The May 2016 futures on the Nifty 50 index traded at 7,764.10, a premium of 30.65 points compared with Nifty's closing of 7,733.45 in the cash market. Turnover on the National Stock Exchange's (NSE) futures and options (F&O) totaled Rs 1.81 lakh crore, lower than turnover of Rs 1.97 lakh crore registered during the previous trading session.
In the cash market, the Nifty declined 2.05 points or 0.03% to settle at 7,733.45, its lowest closing level since 4 May 2016.
Tata Motors, State Bank of India (SBI), Tata Steel, ICICI Bank and Reliance Industries (RIL) were the top traded individual stock futures contracts on the futures & options (F&O) segment of NSE. Tata Motors May 2016 futures traded at 398, at a premium compared with spot closing of 397.60. SBI May 2016 futures traded at 184.30, at a premium compared with spot closing of 184.15. Tata Steel May 2016 futures traded at 331.10, at a premium compared with spot closing of 329.60.
ICICI Bank May 2016 futures traded at 219.65, at a premium compared with spot closing of 218.75. RIL May 2016 futures traded at 975.20, at a premium compared with spot closing of 969.15.
The May 2016 F&O contracts are set to expire on 26 May 2016.
