Turnover on NSE's F&O segment drops
The Nifty November 2016 futures traded at 8508.80, a small premium of 11.75 points compared with the Nifty's closing of 8497.05 in the cash market. The December 2016 futures on the Nifty 50 index traded at 8559.40, a premium of 62.35 points compared with the Nifty's closing in the cash market. Turnover on the National Stock Exchange's futures & options (F&O) segment dropped to Rs 2.13 lakh crore from turnover of Rs 2.89 lakh crore registered on Friday, 4 November 2016.
In the cash market, the Nifty 50 index rose 63.30 points or 0.75% to settle at 8,497.05, its highest closing level since 2 November 2016.
ICICI Bank, Punjab National Bank (PNB), Vedanta, State Bank of India (SBI) and Lupin were the top traded individual stock futures contracts in F&O segment of NSE. ICICI Bank November 2016 futures traded at 278.75, near spot closing of 278.25. PNB November 2016 futures traded at 140.45, near spot closing of 140.30. Vedanta November 2016 futures traded at 215.95, at a premium over spot closing of 214.95.
SBI November 2016 futures traded at 252.75, near spot closing of 252.15. Lupin November 2016 futures traded at 1519, at a discount compared with spot closing of 1519.95.
The November 2016 F&O contracts are set to expire on 24 November 2016. The December 2016 F&O contracts are set to expire on 29 December 2016.
