Tata Motors September 2016 futures trade at premium to spot price

F&O turnover drops

The September 2016 futures on the Nifty 50 index traded at 8777.95, at a premium of 51.35 points compared with Nifty's closing of 8726.60 in the cash market. The Nifty October 2016 futures traded at 8815, a premium of 88.40 points compared with the spot closing for the index. Turnover on the National Stock Exchange's futures & options (F&O) segment declined to Rs 3.56 lakh crore from turnover of Rs 3.88 lakh crore registered on Monday, 12 September 2016. The stock market was closed yesterday, 13 September 2016 for a holiday.

In the cash market, the Nifty rose 11 points or 0.13% to settle at 8,726.60, its highest closing level since 9 September 2016.

Reliance Capital, Yes Bank, Tata Steel, Tata Motors and Reliance Infrastructure were the top traded individual stock futures contracts in F&O segment of NSE. Reliance Capital September 2016 futures traded at 569.15, at a discount compared with spot closing of 578.50. Yes Bank September 2016 futures traded at 1257.10, at a premium over spot closing of 1254. Tata Steel September 2016 futures traded at 375.40, near spot closing of 374.20.

Tata Motors September 2016 futures traded at 567, at a premium compared with spot closing of 564.20. Reliance Infrastructure September 2016 futures traded at 591, at a discount compared with spot closing of 596.70.

The September 2016 F&O contracts are set to expire on 29 September 2016. The October 2016 F&O contracts are set to expire on 27 October 2016.
