Nifty August 2016 futures trade at premium to spot price
The August 2016 futures on the Nifty 50 index traded at 8621.85, premium of 29.70 points compared with Nifty's closing of 8592.15 in the cash market. The Nifty September 2016 futures traded at 8668.60, a premium of 76.45 points compared with the spot closing for the index.
Turnover on the National Stock Exchange's futures & options (F&O) segment rose to Rs 4.62 lakh crore from turnover of Rs 3.68 lakh crore registered yesterday, 10 August 2016.
In the cash market, the Nifty rose 16.85 points or 0.20% to settle at 8,592.15, its highest closing level since 9 August 2016.
Bank of Baroda, Yes Bank, Sun Pharmaceutical Industries, State Bank of India and HPCL were the top traded individual stock futures contracts in F&O segment of NSE. Bank of Baroda August 2016 futures traded at 146.35, at a premium compared with spot closing of 145.60. Yes Bank August 2016 futures traded at 1259.65, at a premium compared with spot closing of 1254.20. Sun Pharmaceutical Industries August 2016 futures traded at 813.35, at a premium compared with spot closing of 810.45.
State Bank of India August 2016 futures traded at 227.90, at a premium compared with spot closing of 226.90. HPCL August 2016 futures traded at 1221, at a premium compared with spot closing of 1215.35.
The August 2016 F&O contracts are set to expire on 25 August 2016. The September 2016 F&O contracts are set to expire on 29 September 2016.
