Turnover on NSE's F&O segment spurts

Nifty April futures trade at small premium

The Nifty April 2018 futures traded at 10139, at a premium of 10.60 points over the Nifty's spot closing of 10128.40 in the cash market.

Turnover on the National Stock Exchange's futures & options (F&O) segment jumped to Rs 8.95 lakh crore, compared with the turnover of Rs 4.33 lakh crore registered in the previous session.

In the cash market, the Nifty 50 index fell 116.60 points or 1.14% to settle at 10,128.40.

Tata Motors, ICICI Bank, Tata Steel, State Bank of India (SBI) and Reliance Industries (RIL) were the top traded individual stock futures contracts in F&O segment of NSE. Tata Motors April 2018 futures traded at 355.60, at a premium over spot closing of 354.80. ICICI Bank April 2018 futures traded at 268.50, at a premium over spot closing of 268.10.

Tata Steel April 2018 futures traded at 561.45, at a premium over spot closing of 559.10. SBI April 2018 futures traded at 247.30, at a premium over spot closing of 246.70. RIL April 2018 futures traded at 894.60, at a premium over spot closing of 893.25.

The April 2018 F&O contracts expire on 26 April 2018.
