Four persons, including a Nigerian who was overstaying in India, have been arrested and heroin worth Rs 1 crore has been seized in two separate cases here, police said on Monday.
In one case, police arrested Elime David, of Nigeria, and Brijesh Kumar Garg, 40, of Punjab with 260 grams of heroin in Janak Puri area of west Delhi.
"David came to India in 2012 on student visa and did not return to Nigeria on the expiry of his visa," said Deputy Commissioner of Police, Rajesh Deo.
In a separate case, police said they have recovered 700 grams of fine quality heroin from Hemraj, 26, of Delhi and Nitu, 25, of Punjab near Guru Nanaksar Gurdwara.
Police said that during interrogation both the accused accepted of using heroin. They also told police that they worked for "Shera of Punjab" and got heroin from one "Bhaijaan" of Bareilly in UP.
