Iran international striker Reza Ghoochan-Nejad has parted company with Al Kuwait football club by mutual consent.
Ghoochan-Nejad, who scored nine goals in 14 appearances for Al Kuwait, joined the Persian Gulf side in August. The club's officials had a meeting with the player's agent and finally decided to terminate his contract Wednesday, reports Xinhua.
It's undecided whether the Iranian-Dutch striker will remain in Kuwait. Al-Qadsia SC offered $300,000 dollars.
Ghoochan-Nejad, who represented the Netherlands from 2003 to 2007 in the youth ranks, scored Iran's winning goal against South Korea which led to Iran's qualification for the 2014 FIFA World Cup.
He also scored Iran's sole goal in the 1-3 defeat against Bosnia and Herzegovina in World Cup group stage match.
In the recent Asian Cup in Australia, Ghoochan-Nejad had an excellent performance, by scoring two vital goals against the United Arab Emirates and Iraq.
