The men's compound team lost its semi-final match 231-232 against the United States. They will face Italy in the third-place match on Saturday. The two losing semi-finalists have thus qualified for the bronze-level encounter.
The men's compound team, comprising Kawal Preet Singh, Abhishek Verma and Rajat Chauhan beat Iran 29-28 in the quarter-finals earlier.
In the women's compound team event, India, represented by Vennam Jyothi Surekha, Purvasha Sudhir Shende and Lily Chanu Paonam, was defeated by the United States 212-224 in the quarters.
India's men's recurve team comprising Mangal Singh Champia, Bulbul Marandi and Rahul Banerjee lost 0-6 against Germany in the last eight stage.
The fancied women's recurve team, consisting of heavyweights Deepika Kumari, Rimil Buriuly and Bombayla Devi Laishram lost 2-6 against Italy in a last-eight round contest after thrashing Poland 6-0 in the previous round.
