Bayern Munich President Karl-Heinz Rummenigge recalled on Tuesday that the football club has not had very good results in the last three years against Spanish teams, and on the eve of Wednesday's match against Atletico Madrid in the Champions League he said it is important not to lose.

In a statement released by Bayern Munich, while the team was on their way to the Spanish capital, Rummenigge said the team must at least tie on Wednesday with Atletico, reports Efe.

Bayern have lost the Champions League semi-finals in the last three consecutive seasons to Spanish clubs Real Madrid, Barcelona and Atletico.

Before going to the airport on Tuesday, the players and the technical team had breakfast together in Munich, where only two players, Holger Badstuber and Douglas Costa remained behind.

Rummenigge said Bayern are having a good run, winning eight games in a row, and that he hoped to keep on this track on Wednesday at Vicente Calderon stadium.

The Bavarians consider this to be probably the most difficult match of the group stage.

The club president said that Atletico are their toughest rivals in the group, which is proven by the fact that they have reached the final twice in the last three years.
