Two bodies of victims of the crashed AirAsia flight could no longer be recognised because of advanced decay conditions, media reported.

"Two bodies of the crashed AirAsia flight found Tuesday could not be recognised because of advanced decay conditions," said the coordinator of the Disaster Victim Identification (DVI) team of the Indonesian police headquarters Wednesday.

The two bodies of adult female victims have been put in coffins at RSUD Sultan Imanuddin Hospital to be flown from Iskandar air base to Surabaya, East Java, Indonesia's Antara News Agency reported.

One of the bodies was taken away to the hospital Tuesday evening and is kept in the hospital's morgue.

The other body arrived at 2 a.m. Wednesday because it was retrieved and brought by a ship. It could not be taken aboard a helicopter due to bad weather.

Till Wednesday morning, rescuers have retrieved from the sea waters 39 bodies of the AirAsia flight victims. All bodies are flown to Surabaya for identification process and for handing over to their families.

AirAsia flight QZ8501, with 162 people on board, went missing Dec 28 last year en route from Surabaya, East Java, to Singapore.
