Round 3 of the Indian National Rally Championship will be held here July 25-27.
The South India Rally will see hard competing rally drivers fighting each other on the dust and dirt in-and-around the Madras Motor Race Track. A high-speed stage on the racetrack is the special treat that rally enthusiasts will enjoy.
The rally, organised by the Madras Motor Sport Club (MMSC), will run a distance of about 120 km over 11 stages, including two super-special tarmac stages.
While the route is similar but not identical to 2013, this year the organisers have packed in faster and smoother flowing corners in all stages. Also, cars will battle on the high-speed tarmac super-special stages during the cooler evening period.
A new feature of the rally will be the ceremonial flag-off being planned at a popular shopping mall in the city.
