Kenya's Interior Cabinet Secretary Joseph Nkaissery on Saturday confirmed that police are holding three more suspects in Thursday's Garissa University College attack, taking to five the number of suspects in custody.

The three are said to be associates of terror mastermind Gamadhere and were nabbed at the Somalia border while trying to flee on Friday, Xinhua news agency reported.

At least 148 people were killed in the deadly attack carried out by the Somalia-based militant group Al-Shabaab.

The group issued a statement earlier on Saturday, warning Kenya of further attacks.
