Gender neutrality is required in corporate India to reduce the attrition of female staff, social activistg Kian Bedi, a former top cop, said here on Saturday.

"Gender Neutrality is much needed in our country where talent is recognized above all and also emphasized on the fact that Corporate Houses should frame the policies, timings etc in a way that semale staff attrition becomes less," Bedi, the first woman IPS officer said at the second edition of The Angel Summit at the FICCI Auditorium here.

"This is the right platform to witness that failure should never deter the zeal of entrepreneurship in you. When you fall (you will surely fall), then fall forward and not backward. As long as you are learning while falling you will succeed," Bedi said of the initiative.

"The Angel Summit brought together the brightest women in tech, business, arts, sports, and politics and connected them with aspiring individuals. The aim behind organizing The Angel Summit around Mother's Day was to intimate the youth with the successful and inspiring female individuals so that they get motivated from the people of the present generation and have new mentors to look up to," a statement said.

During the event, 10 "brilliant female-led startups from across India were chosen from hundreds of applicants to pitch on the Angel Summit stage", the statement said, adding: "Mentored sessions for aspiring women with the distinguished speakers guaranteed the funding of the best ideas. The agenda was planned to produce tangible results in terms of promoting women in leadership roles and creating great visibility for female-led businesses in India."

Speaking on the ocassion, The Angel Hub founder and CEO Sita Pallacholla said: "The Angel summit platform is best described by the the phrase Inspiration Meets Impact. I always get asked why this platform is only for women: Women entrepreneurs across the globe have similar barriers and hurdles to overcome, these range from financial to societal barriers. The reason for creating The Angel Summit is to address these issues and bring to light solution centric conversations and turn ideas that matter into action."
