The hostage situation has ended in Roubaix in northern France, with three hostages rescued and at least two people arrested, the media reported on Wednesday.
Around 7.00 p.m. (local time) on Tuesday, two individuals were identified by the police patrol when they were preparing to commit robbery, Xinhua reported.
"Gunshots were fired and the men were hiding in the house that they were going to rob," the report said.
According to the police, hostages were rescued around 10.00 p.m. (local time). At least two people were arrested.
However, police did not say if there was anyone injured during the operation.
