Australia's veteran cricketer Michael Hussey and English all-rounder Luke Wright are among the players named Friday for the Twenty20 Big Bash League (BBL) Player of the Tournament award.
The eight shortlisted cricketers are: Jackson Bird (Melbourne Stars), Ben Dunk (Hobart Hurricanes), John Hastings (Melbourne Stars), Moises Henriques (Sydney Sixers), Brad Hodge (Melbourne Stars), Mike Hussey (Sydney Thunder), Chris Lynn (Brisbane Heat), Luke Wright (Melbourne Stars).
The award will be given Feb 3, ahead of the semi-finals, to the player who receives the most votes from umpires at the end of the 32-match season. After each match, both umpires cast individual 3-2-1 votes.
The semi-finals get underway Feb 4 with the Stars and the Hurricanes at the Melbourne Cricket Ground here. The Sixers then host the Scorchers Feb 5 at the Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG) before the final Feb 7.
