Actress Jessica Chastain is in talks to star as an adviser to Sioux chieftain Sitting Bull in upcoming drama film "Woman Walks Ahead".
Susanna White, who directed "Generation Kill" and "Nanny McPhee Returns", will helm the project from a script by Steven Knight, reports variety.com.
Chastain will portray Caroline Weldon, who moved from Brooklyn to the Standing Rock Reservation in Dakota Territory to help the Sioux chieftain keep the land for his people. Weldon wrote letters to the federal government on behalf of Sitting Bull and lived on the land for several years with her son.
Chastain was last seen onscreen in "The Martian" and "Crimson Peak".
