JSW Steel Ltd. on Monday said it restarted production at its Salem plant in Tamil Nadu on October 10, following revocation of a closure notice issued by the Tamil Nadu Pollution Control Board (TNPCB).

In a filing in BSE, the company said there was a minor leakage of blast furnace gas at the Salem plant, where some workers were affected.

Following the directive from TNPCB, the plant, located around 340 km from here, was shut down on September 28.

The company said the plant restarted operations on October 10 after TNPCB revoked the closure order.
