Man involved in 36 criminal cases held

A 32-year-old man involved 36 criminal cases, including four murders, has been arrested here, police said Wednesday.

Gaurav Kumar, a resident of Jharera village in Delhi Cantt, was arrested Tuesday along with his associate Vishal, 27, from west Delhi's Mayapuri area following a tip-off.

Kumar was involved in 36 criminal cases, including murder, robbery, assault on public servant and criminal intimidation, police said, adding that he had a Rs.25,000 cash reward on his head.

According to police, Kumar has committed a murder in the Delhi Cantt area and was under their surveillance.

"We received a secret information that he (Kumar) along with his associate Vishal would come to meet a contact in (Tuesday) afternoon. A trap was laid and the duo was arrested," a police officer said.

One country made pistol of .315 bore along with two live cartridges were recovered from Kumar while a stolen motorcycle was seized.
