A 22-year-old man jumped to his death into an open well Tuesday evening at the Feroz Shah Kotla Fort, police said.

The incident occurred around 4 p.m. inside the fort's ruins in the Indraprastha Estate area.

A witness told police that the unidentified man scaled the boundary wall of the well and jumped into it. He informed the security personnel of the fort who later called police.

Police have kept the body at the LNJP hospital for his identification. No suicide note was found.
