Regional air service operator Maritime Energy Heli Air Services (Mehair) Friday said that it has received the requisite permissions for starting services in Gujarat.
"The launch of a regional air connectivity service in a progressive state like Gujarat will only provide a bigger fillip to not just trade and commence but tourism as well as religious tourism, since it saves time and is a convenient mode of travel," said Siddharth Verma, director and co-founder of Mehair, after receiving the letter of intent (LoI) from the Gujarat government.
According to the company, as part of the contract, the Gujarat government will provide a subsidy to the service on the various flights operating across the state.
The company added that with the finalisation of the project, Gujarat became only the second state in the country after Madhya Pradesh to have its own regional intra-state aviation service.
