A man accused of murder, who was in police custody, escaped from a hospital here on Saturday, police said.
Sunny Choudhary alias Sunny Baba, who was lodged in Kotbhalwal jail in Jammu on January 22, 2015, was admitted to a hospital on July 11, 2015 here due to illness, a senior police officer told IANS.
"He escaped from the GMC hospital in Jammu today (Saturday) although five guards from district police lines were deployed with him at the hospital," he added.
The accused was involved in a murder case in which a senior superintendent of police was also arrested for allegedly fudging the murder weapon.
