It has been a year since the fateful day of March 8 when the Narendrans lost their loved one, Chandrika Sharma, an unfortunate passenger in the Malaysian Airlines flight MH370 that disappeared mysteriously.

The 51-year-old Chandrika Sharma headed the International Collective in Support of Fishworkers (ICSF), an NGO here as its executive secretary.

Her husband K.S. Narendran is a management consultant and daughter Meghna a college student.

She had gone to attend a conference organised by the Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO) in Mongolia when the Malaysian Airlines flight vanished into thin air.

"Mr. Narendran does not want to be disturbed. He wants to spend a quiet time," Chandrika Sharma's colleague and a family friend told IANS not wanting to be named.

According to the friend, the family has not received any official 'death certificate' from the Malaysian government till now.

Meanwhile, Chandrika Sharma was remembered at a workshop organised by ICSF here on Friday.

The ICSF in its website homepage has a section titled "Waiting for Chandrika Sharma".

On March 8, 2014, the flight MH370 left Kuala Lumpur for Beijing with 239 people -passengers and crew. The flight lost contact and has still not bee traced.

In January 2015, the Malaysian government declared that the plane had met with an accident and all the people on board were presumed dead.
