Indo-Czech tennis combine of Leander Paes and Radek Stepanek were thrashed by Austrian-Brazilian Alexander Peya and Bruno Soares in the men's doubles quarterfinals of the BMW Open here on Thursday.
The top seeds had an easy 6-2, 6-1 win in 54 minutes on the clay courts of MTTC Iphitos.
Peya and Soares totally dominated the first set by saving three breakpoints and winning two to easily take the advantage in the first set where they won 25 of the 45 points played.
The script got even better for the top seeds as they took a game less to close the set and match in their favour.
With their win, Peya and Soares levelled their head-to-head to 2-2 against Paes-Stepanek. It was the first meeting between the two pairs on a clay court with the previous meetings coming on hard courts.
