Prime Minister Narendra Modi is pained over the loss of lives due to stampede during Godavari pushkaram at Rajahmundry in Andhra Pradesh.
"Deeply pained at the loss of lives due to stampede at Rajahmundry. My condolences to the families of the deceased & prayers with the injured," the PM tweeted.
Modi also spoke to Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu over phone and discussed the situation with him.
Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao has also expressed deep condolences at the tragic loss of lives in the stampede.
He wished seedy recovery for the injured.
