Jammu and Kashmir is likely to receive rain and thundershowers over the next two to three days, the Met Office said on Wednesday.
Overnight intermittent rain continued to lash the state on Wednesday, leading to water-logging in many places of Srinagar.
Srinagar received 4.6 mm of rainfall till 8.30 a.m. on Wednesday, while a highest of 31.8 mm of rainfall was recorded at the tourist resort of Pahalgam in the Kashmir valley.
"We are expecting light to moderate rainfall accompanied by thundershowers at many places in the state during the next 24 hours," an official of the local weather office told IANS here.
He said the weather is likely to improve by Saturday (June 27) evening.
"There will be isolated and scattered rains on Friday and Saturday and decrease in precipitation afterwards."
Meanwhile, it was a cloudy rainy Wednesday morning in Srinagar with the minimum temperature recorded at 16.2 degrees Celsius.
The minimum temperatures in Gulmarg and Pahalgam were 8.5 degrees and 10.4 degrees Celsius respectively.
In Ladakh region's Kargil town, the minimum temperature was 10 degrees Celsius. In Leh region of the same region where there is a forecast of light rains, the minimum temperature settled at 12.5 degrees.
"In Jammu region, the maximum temperature is likely to hover around 34 degrees Celsius today," the Met Office said.
The minimum temperature in Jammu city was 24.6 degrees Celsius on Wednesday.
