Veteran Indian golfer Jeev Milkha Singh Tuesday said he has recovered from a shoulder injury and that rowing helped him regain his strength.
Gearing up for the Indian Open, the 43-year-old said he feels rejuvenated after recovering from a shoulder injury that troubled him last year. He has looked rusty in the first two tournaments of 2015, missing cuts on both occasions.
"I'm injury-free. I got my distance back. I haven't hit the ball as good as now, compared to the last two years. The results haven't shown yet but I'm working on the right stuff. I'll have some good weeks this year," said Jeev.
"During recovery, I was working with a rower as it involves many aspects of the physicality of a golfer."
The two-time Asian Tour No.1, Jeev has won National Opens in Scotland, Singapore, China and Austria, but the Indian Open trophy still eludes him.
"It has been a while since I've come back to play at my National Open. There's a lot of history especially on this golf course. The Delhi Golf Club (DGC) is a course where I've played in a lot of junior and professional tournaments," the six-time winner on the Asian Tour said.
"It is good that we have our National Open here. I will be aiming to play aggressive and carefree golf this week."
Jeev, a four-time winner on the European Tour, said Indian golfers will have an advantage in the impending Indian Open.
"Indians will have an advantage at DGC because we've played here many times. S.S.P. Chowrasia won an European Tour event on this course and proved he is a very good player. Indians will play very well this week."
The Indian Open will be played at the DGC Feb 19-22.
