Actress-singer Roxanne Pallett was reportedly rushed to hospital with a severe kidney infection.
The 30-year-old is undergoing tests at the Princess Royal Hospital in Bromley, Kent, reports thesun.co.uk.
The former "Emmerdale" suffered crippling pain as she travelled to Cambridge to play Janet on stage in musical show "The Rocky Horror Show".
"She was on the way to the theatre. It's a severe kidney infection," said a source.
"She's very clean-living. She doesn't drink or smoke and looks after herself, although she is a workaholic," the source added.
Pallett, who is dating actor Harry Neale, became famous after playing Jo Sugden in ITV soap opera Emmerdale.
