A couple from Uttar Pradesh were injured when their car was hit by a speeding car from the Russian embassy here early on Tuesday, police said.
The embassy car (75CD99) rammed into a police barricade around 12.30 a.m. before hitting the couple's car on Africa Avenue in Chanakyapuri in south Delhi.
The couple's car was at the police barricade during a routine check.
"Four Russian nationals, including the driver, were in the car on their way to the Russian embassy. The couple's car was being checked when the accident occurred," said a police official.
The couple, who were headed to Ghaziabad in Uttar Pradesh from Vasant Kunj in south Delhi, received minor injuries and were given first aid at a hospital.
"We have booked the driver of the embassy car for rash and negligent driving," said the official.
