Senior Rashtriya Lok Samta Party (RLSP) leader and former Minister Bhagwan Singh Kushwaha on Friday joined Bihar's ruling party Janata Dal-United (JD-U) here.
In a setback to the RLSP, Kushwaha formally joined the JD-U along with hundreds of supporters at the state JD-U headquarters.
He had said last week that he would join the Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar-led party.
Earlier this month, after RLSP chief Upendra Kushwaha quit the BJP-led NDA and resigned as Union Minister, Bhagwan Singh expressed strong reservations and asked him to continue with the NDA.
Last week, three RLSP legislators announced their intent to continue with the National Democratic Alliance (NDA).
The RLSP joined the Congress-led United Progressive Alliance (UPA) early this month.
