After three back-to-back murders in the millennium city, the crime branch on Wednesday arrested a shooter of slain gangster Sandeep Gadoli.
The accused, identified as Aakash alias Akku, (22), a resident of Sadhrana village under the sector 10 area, was involved in murder of Manish Gujjar on October 18, 2016. Aakash is brother of dreaded gangster Bindar Gujjar.
Acting on tip-off, the crime branch led a trap at Bristol Chowk and arrested him from near Bristol Hotel after a brief scuffle.
The crime branch team has also recovered one country-made pistol and a live cartridge from him. Earlier, Gurugram police on Monday arrested Satish alias Pawva, a shooter of Kaushal gang. He was involved in murder of bookie Vijay Batra on February 22.
During interrogation, Aakash admitted that he had killed Manish Gujjar as his brother was allegedly involved in the murder of his boss Sandeep Gadoli in February 2016, said Shamsher Singh, Assistant Commissioner of Police (Crime).
He, along with several other shooters of Gadoli, joined the Kaushal gang to challenge Bindar Gujjar, added Singh.
Aakash also admitted his close links with several other gangs.
"Aakash was involved in an attack on Municipal Councilor Sandeep Gahlawat on January 1, 2018. Gahlawat, however, narrowly escaped and a case of attempt to murder was lodged against him. Aakash was involved in half a dozen murder and attempts to murder in Gurugram," he said.
