 "Surya Namaskar, Namaz have similarities, says UP CM Adityanath Yogi")
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Adityanath Yogi on Wednesday drew parallels between the postures used while performing Surya Namaskar and offering Namaz.
He made this statement at "Yoga Mahotsav" being organised at the Indira Gandhi Pratishthan in Lucknow. Yoga Guru Swami Ramdev was also present on the occasion.
"Our Prime Minister helped in promoting Yoga. Baba Ramdev has taken Yoga to the people? Yoga is a way of self-discipline? Surya Namaskar and several 'asanas' (yoga postures) are similar to the postures used while offering Namaz," Adityanath said.
Addressing the gathering, he said that people did not even give alms to the "yogis" but Prime Minister Narendra Modi gave him the responsibility of entire Uttar Pradesh.
"I have been chosen by the people and my party. I know this state like my home and I have solution for each and every problem of the state? Had I not accepted the post of Chief Minister, people would have said that I am running away from my responsibilities," Adityanath said.
He added that he was not hesitant of taking tough decisions.
He also spoke on the issue of demonetisation and how the entire nation's positive thinking can improve the country's economy.
