Over half a dozen people were injured in Bihar's Bhojpur district Saturday after some unidentified people hurled stones at a procession carrying a Lakshmi idol for immersion, triggering clashes, police said.
At least five shops were also set afire in the district's Sahar bazaar area, they said.
Superintendent of Police Rajesh Kumar said the situation was tense but under control. "Half a dozen people were injured and some anti-social elements set ablaze a few shops," he said.
According to police, clashes between two communities erupted after some people objected to a particular route of the procession and hurled stones.
