Three youths drowned in the Upper Ganga Canal on Sunday afternoon after they dived into it from a bridge, police said.
Rajesh (21), Amit (20) and Gajendra Tyagi (19) -- all residents of Saraswati Vihar in Loni -- went for a dip in the canal in Muradnagar area.
They dived from the bridge on National Highway 58 into the canal around 2.30 p.m.
When the three did not surface, witnesses informed the police.
National Disaster Response Force personnel were deployed in a rescue and recovery operation, police said.
The families of the victims have been informed, said Ummed Singh, in-charge of Muradnagar police station.
