Chinese international midfielder Zhang Xizhe was warmly welcomed at his new German football club Wolfsburg.
The 26-year-old, who has topped the assists rankings in Chinese Super League twice, signed a two-and-a-half-year contract with Wolfsburg last month, reports Xinhua.
He set up for Bas Dost to score in a 4-1 friendly victory over Ajax Cape Town in his debut for the Wolves during their winter training period in South Africa.
"His transfer has attracted a lot of media attention. He's one of the best players in China and he'll be a real help to us," said Wolfsburg sporting director Klaus Allofs.
Wolfsburg will face Bayern Munich, the only team currently above them in the Bundesliga standings, Friday.
"I'll be going all out against Bayern," Zhang said.
