Dausa MP quits Assembly, finally

At last, the independent MP from Dausa, Kirodi Lal Meena, has resigned from the legislative Assembly. Meena was an MLA when he contested the Dausa seat. Constitutionally, he was to resign from the state legislature within 14 days of being elected to the Lok Sabha. He sent his personal secretary (PS) with his resignation letter to the Speaker of the Rajasthan Assembly, DS Shekhawat.

Offended, the Speaker turned the PS away and told him Meena had to come himself and deliver the letter. Finally, earlier this week, Meena arrived, PS in tow, and apologised for not coming sooner personally. Delhi has this effect on you.
