West Bengal Transport Minister Madan Mitra, who is now in Alipore Central Jail for his alleged involvement in the Saradha scam, compared himself to Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose before being arrested. "Even Netaji was in jail," Mitra noted on the eve of his arrest. No surprise, then, that Mitra played a lead role in celebrating Netaji's birthday on January 23 within the jail premises last week. He also delivered a speech on Netaji's sacrifices for the nation to his fellow inmates on the occasion.
