Bharti should be sacked if he doesn't resign: Harsh Vardhan

Says Kejriwal was proud to be an anarchist and spread disharmony in the whole system by insulting everyone

Reacting to the recent comment made by Delhi Law Minister Somnath Bharti on a reporter, after he was asked if he was planning to resign from his post on moral grounds, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader  Harsh Vardhan on Friday said that it was very unfortunate that Bharti was insulting women as well as the media, and that he should be sacked if he did not resign.

 

"This whole incident is extremely shameful. It is unfortunate that the law minister, who is supposed to protect the law, has been insulting the system, women, lawyers, police, and today by insulting the media, he showed his intellectual bankruptcy," said Harsh Vardhan.

 

"He has to resign otherwise; Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has to sack him, either ways he has to go," he said.

 

He further said that Kejriwal was proud to be an anarchist and spread disharmony in the whole system by insulting everyone.

 

"The CM feels pride to call himself an anarchist, and starts to insult the judiciary, the legislature and the administrative system, and the media too. I would like to ask Arvind Kejriwal, that for a long time media has been praising him and at that time he was happy but, now he feels media is not doing the right job," he said.

 

"I think this the time when serious actions should be taken. BJP prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi is a great leader, who faced criticism by media for 10 years, for charges which could never be proved, but, he never lost his patience, and never said a word against media," said Harsh Vardhan.

 

On being questioned by a reporter today, as to whether he was planning to resign from the post of the Delhi law minister on moral grounds, Bharti asked, "How much money were you paid by Modiji?"

 

BJP leader Vijay Goel on Friday met the Lt Governor to demand the resignation of Bharti for his vigilante-style action against Ugandan women during a night raid in the capital.

 

BJP leaders also protested at 14 different places of the national capital on Friday, demanding Bharti's resignation.

 

Yesterday the Supreme Court issued notice to Central Government and Delhi Government on Kejriwal's recent protest and has asked for reply in next six weeks.

 

The notice was issued during a hearing of Public Interest Litigation (PIL), which was filed by lawyer, ML Sharma, against Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) over their protest outside the Railway Ministry, which amounted to a breakdown of the constitutional machinery.
