The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the appointment of Satish B. Agnihotri as Secretary in the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy.
An officer of the 1980 batch of the Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Agnihotri, who was Director-General (Acquisition) in the Ministry of Defence, assumes charge from Ratan P. Watal, an IAS officer of the 1978 batch.
Aradhana Johri, an officer of the 1980 batch of the IAS, has been appointed as Secretary of the Department of Pharmaceuticals. She was earlier Additional Secretary in the Department of AIDS Control.
S.Machendranathan, an officer of the 1979 batch of the IAS, has been appointed as as Secretary (Coordination and Public Grievances) in the Cabinet Secretariat. He was earlier Special Secretary and Financial Adviser in the Civil Aviation Ministry. He takes over from Alok Rawat, an officer of the 1977 batch of the IAS.
