Weapon used in Muzaffarnagar riots found

A sharp weapon, allegedly used to kill three youths during the Muzaffarnagar violence, has been recovered here on the inputs of an accused in the riots, police said today.

The weapon used in the murder was recovered from near accused Sanserpal's house yesterday in Mohadpur Rai Singh village in Budhana area of the district, police said.

Three persons were killed on the night of October 30 when communal violence had erupted afresh in the village.

Cases were registered against 15 persons in connection with the violence, of whom nine, including Sanserpal, were arrested.

The riots in Muzaffarnagar in September displaced thousands of people and claimed over 60 lives.
