Sharda University organises orientation programme for post graduate students

Sharda University, an institute of excellence, inspiring value-based education, research and development, recently conducted an elaborate Orientation programme for its Post Graduate students pursuing M. Tech. and Ph.D. courses. The orientation was facilitated by Sharda University’s Research and Technology Development Centre (RTDC).

The Orientation programme was inaugurated by Prof. Jagadeesh, Vice Chancellor, Sharda University. Also present were Dr. S. K. Mishra, Director, Research, RTDC, Academic Co-ordinators of M. Tech and Ph. D. programmemes Sharda University and other senior faculty members. It was attended by large number of students from diverse M. Tech. & Ph. D. courses in fields such as Biotechnology, Nanotechnology, Bioinformatics, Energy & Environmental Engineering, Computer Science & Engineering, Microwave Technology, V.L.S.I. Technology, Power System Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Energy Science and Material Technology. Currently 120 students are pursuing M. Tech. courses in Sharda University and about 180 research scholars are pursuing research under the aegis of RTDC.

The experienced faculty of Sharda University shared valuable information upon the respective industry norms with the students. The latter also received a detailed explanation on the prospect of M. Tech and Ph. D. programmes. They were briefed upon the multi-dimensional aspects of each programme both on the academic as well as industrial interest.

Speaking on the occasion, Prof. Jagdeesh, Vice Chancellor, Sharda University said, “We extend a warm welcome to our fresh batch of students pursuing M.Tech. and Ph.D. courses. Sharda University is committed to provide excellent educational opportunities and a world-class experience in its variety of courses. We provide a diverse range of research projects under our Research and Technology Development Centre. Our faculty brings with it many years of academic and industry experience that invariably helps our students whether they join industry or pursue a research course after their post graduate courses.”

Also, the research and development activities or projects that Ph. D. students undertake at the University’s RTDC are unmatchable. They get expert guidance from our faculty at this research centre, which is invariably world class.”

The RTDC at Sharda University has been established to perform cutting edge research in the frontier areas of Science, Engineering and Medicine. The centre is equipped with state of the art facilities and works in collaboration with various institutions of repute both at the national and international level. The current activities which are being pursued at RTDC focus on multidisciplinary aspects and many of them are being supported by the Research Agencies of Government of India.
