Describing as 'successful' their interaction with aptains of industry in Delhi, Chatterjee said the state government has been able to dispel all confusions in the minds of investors about the state's industrial policy.

"There was a perception that nothing is taking place in the state, but we have clarified our position in Delhi during our interaction with the captains of industry which triggered more curiosity in their mind about the state," Chatterjee said.

Chatterjee said investors were mostly interested about pouring in their capital in cement, construction, power and manufacturing sector.

Industrialist Puneet Dalmiya has shown interest about setting up a Rs 550 crore cement unit at Salboni in West Midnapore, while the Ambuja Group was keen to set up its cement units in Assansol and Durgapur region.

Automobile major Maruti has also shown interest about setting up its plant at Dankuni and in Siliguri in North Bengal. However, details were not known, he said.

To a question, Chatterjee however ruled out the news as reported in a section of media about Hero Group chief Pawan Munjal walking out during mid-session of the industry meet.

Similar such meeting with the captains of industry would be held in Mumbai next.
