1 mn skilled healthcare providers likely by 2022: Institute

The Asian Research and Training Institute for Skill Transfer (ARTIST) here has said it plans to create one million skilled healthcare providers by 2022.
ARTIST has invited collaborators from across industries for a healthier India through Skill Transfer and applying optimal use of Technology to make quality healthcare accessible wherever it currently is not.
ARTIST Chairperson Hema Divakar made the announcement at 'ARTIST Reality Awards' function here last night where top collaborators were awarded for their contribution in the field of Healthcare and Skill Transfer, a release from the organisation today said.
Divakar, who is the FOGSI (the Federation of Obstetric Gynaecological Society of India) Ambassador to FIGO (International Federation of Gynecology and Obstetrics), said, "...So far teams from and with ARTIST have been able to reach 15,000 medical and paramedical staff.Our aim is to reach one million by 2022."
She said Phase-1 focused on R&D and up-skilling in Bengaluru. Phase-2 began when with collaborations within the healthcare circle in Karnataka and few other select states. ARTIST was on the verge of starting Phase-3 to collaborate with other sectors and up-skill their taskforce.
This results in healthier work environment at work places leading to better productivity and performance, she said. Divakar said so far trainings had been conducted for safe deliveries, workshops and conferences for women's healthcare in Karnataka, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Jharkhand, Assam and Rajasthan covering various healthcare professionals since 2013.
".. We now invite people from across the country and across industries to collaborate with ARTIST, to bring about better healthcare to all."
ARTIST, based out of Bengaluru, aims to improve the capabilities and competencies of Obstetrics & Gynaecologists (ObGyns) in India, the release said.
