five girls, have been rescued from two placement agencies in Shakurpur area of North Delhi with the help of an NGO, police said today.
According to police, the minors were brought from Assam and Bihar.
"A member of NGO Bachpan Bachao Andolan has informed the Crime Branch of illegal detention of a few minors but no location was given. A joint team comprising police officials and NGO members was formed to investigate the case and rescue the children.
Additional Commissioner of Police (Crime) Ravindra Yadav said the voices of children were heard from outside two places. To be sure before raiding the places, police confirmed their presence with the help of binoculars standing in opposite buildings.
