Andhra Pradesh Ministers D Prasada Rao and P Sabita Reddy, who have been made accused in the disproportionate assets cases involving YSR Congress president Jaganmohan Reddy, are understood to have resigned from their posts.
Sabita Reddy, minister for home, and Prasada Rao, minister for roads and buildings, met chief minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy this evening and left the CM's camp office in their private cars.
Though there was no immediate official confirmation that the two ministers have put in their papers, sources indicated that they quit.
When asked about reports of the resignations, a spokesperson for the chief minister said he had no information on it.
The two ministers were not available for comments.
Prasada Rao had submitted his resignation earlier and even stayed away from duties for long, but he was asked to continue in office.
Sabita Reddy too had offered to quit, but she was also persuaded not to resign.
Today's development came following the chief minister's visit to Delhi where he held talks with the Congress leadership over the issue of the "tainted" ministers amid mounting pressure from opposition that the two ministers be sacked.
Vowing not to relent till the ministers are removed, main opposition TDP had met Governor E S L Narasimhan with the demand for removal of the "tainted" ministers.
TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu would meet President Pranab Mukherjee with the demand for the removal of the ministers, TDP sources said earlier in the day.
