2 arrested held for chain snatching, vehicle lifting

Two persons have been arrested for their alleged involvement in a number of chain snatching and vehicle lifting cases in Jama Masjid area, police said today.
The accused, Hunny alias Hitesh and Rahul, were arrested by a Crime Branch team from near Jagat Cinema Hall in Jama Masji Area, Joint Commissioner of Police (Crime) Ravindra Yadav said today.
Their arrest has solved 11 cases of chain snatching and vehicle lifting registered at various police stations.
Gold jewelery including three chains, a ring, a locket, two bangles and two stolen bikes were recovered from them, he said.
Hunny who is a resident of Nabi Karim area had been banished from Delhi for two years due to his criminal record. Rohit was earlier arrested in a murder case registered at Deshbandhu Gupta Road police station, in 2008, he added.
