2 groups of Nigerians clash, indulge in stone pelting

Two groups of Nigerians got into a fight and indulged in stone pelting in south Delhi's Neb Sarai, the police said today.

Two men were detained last night in connection with the incident, but after no formal complaint was received from either sides, they were let off, they said.

It was found that they were fighting over one group using foul language for the other. Later, they started throwing stones at each other, the police said.

After police were informed last night, they rushed to the spot and pacified the situation. Policemen were deployed in the area to ensure that the situation does not get out of hand.

In another incident in west Delhi, two Muslim families had a minor fight with each other on the issue of some interpretation of some preaching, the police said today.

However, there was no formal complaint received on the issue and both the families were counselled.
