According to an FIR filed by the victim's family, Bittu, an autorickshaw driver lured the 5-year-old girl to a jungle yesterday and raped her while her family was away at a marriage ceremony, Inspector Janak Singh Pundir of Daurala police station said.
The villagers working in nearby fields reached the spot after hearing the scream of the girl and beat up the accused before handing him over to the police.
The medical examination of the girl was conducted and handed over to the parents, police added.
